: We learned during the OTC that they only had about 3 good laps in them before they overheated and lap times dropped. Overall grip isn't as good as some of the other higher end R rated tires too. : But they are durable, long lasting, can drive on them to and from the track, and they are relatively cheap. In addition, since we were only getting about 3 good laps from them each session, we would drive hot for about 2-3 laps, take one lap really easy to bring down the temps, take a hot lap, take another very slow cooldown lap, another hot lap, etc..
Hoosiers-Track (not autox grade), and Pilot Sport Cups on the other hand would run great nonestop, without much, if any drop off from overheating. As long as you didn't beat the crap out of the tires from excessive oversteer or excessive understeer. I've never collected any data on the Kuhmos V700, but can only assume that they also don't drop off much, if any since they are used successfully, and win, at the SCCA Valvoline Runoffs National races at Mid-Ohio.
